Since the printers for the Shelby “Chek-In” systems have been seriously delayed, I’ve put off configuring the PCs. I’m hoping I have a resolution to this printer mess next week, so I finally set up all 9 systems and began configuring them. I really need a much bigger KVM – the one I have is only 4 ports.
Here are the specs on these things:
- Dell OptiPlex GX520 Small Form Factor – H: 12.45″ W: 3.65″ D: 13.4
- Intel Pentium 4 Processor 521 with HT (2.8GHz, 1M, 800MHz FSB)
- 512 MB 533 MHz SDRAM
- DVD-ROM/CD-RW
- 80GB HD
- Floppy Drive (it was a $2 add-on, what can I say?)
These systems are stinkin’ fast, and they’re so compact. I’ll be deploying these to many of our staff instead of the huge desktop OptiPlexes I’ve purchased in the past.
In addition to the PC, each Check-In kiosk will include an Elo 1515L 15″ LCD touch screen monitor. And, if they ever arrive, a Zebra LP2844 thermal label printer.
